Darla found the Casa Blanca Resort on the Internet and booked some rooms for our family—plus the Adams family and the Knobes. Casa Blanca is in Mesquite, Nevada, just over the border from Utah. We got to gamble a little, but most of the time was spent around the pool. It was already very hot on the first of April. We spent a couple of days there. |

Darla was sporting her new "vacation swim suit". The top was a bit small, but no one we know will ever see her in it...right? This shot was taken at the pool across the street from the Casa Blanca. It had a spiral water slide and catered more to kids. After the pool, we went to the movies to watch "The Rookie" and have some pizza. We lost our supply of gambling money, but Jerry Adams hit a good hand playing Let-It-Ride and basically paid for his part of the vacation. I tried going fishing one day, and ended up driving a long way to a stream someone told me about at the sporting goods store. It was a nice little stream, but another fisherman at the lake told me it had been killed out by a chemical spill. There weren't many places to choose from in that region. |
