Watercolors
After graduating from college with a Fine Arts degree in the mid-70s, I displayed my watercolor paintings in a gallery in Taos, NM.
I could never see much of a way to pay bills going that route. Framing, shipping, and 40% commissions made it difficult.
50 years later, I am enjoying doing watercolors again, but this time without the “need” to make a living at it. I suppose the financial freedom is good thing⏤as the profitability issues are exactly the same!

Ghosts of the Rockies
9×12 traditional watercolor on handmade watercolor paper with deckled-edge. To date, I haven’t framed or priced this one. With the deckled-edge paper, I plan on allowing the paper to float in a shadow box frame. I plan on doing more of this type of painting with the extremely porous paper.
